If you were Muttiah Muralitharan, what would you make of England refusing to select Mark Ramprakash? I would take it as an insult, that England didn't feel they needed him, and show England's batsmen up for what they are - second best in comparison. MARCUS

I just thought I'd underline that my fears for England's batting proved to be well founded. How Moores can think that Bopara and Shah are the two best batsmen in England, regularly playing county cricket, defies belief. Ramprakash should be 3 or 4 for England. Pietersen at 4 means that he is in danger of being exposed to the new ball, thus limiting his effectiveness. Collingwood only appears to keep his place because he is the captain in waiting and Prior is not a better batsman than Mustard. As for Prior's keeping, the less said... though Alec Stewart will beg to differ. I wonder if it has anything to do with him being Prior's agent? The only real plusses in the series were Cook and Sidebottom. I bet the Kiwis can't wait to play us.

Agree with you,the tour has been a disaster,mainly caused by the team selections from the start. Bopara especially is totally out his depth at this level and should never be have gone in the first place. Moores also seems out of his depth at test level and his after match comments confirm this.He seems to live in a dream world of his own, he infers that the team is an inexperienced one,whereas apart from Cook (our best batter)Bopara and Broad this is a qite experienced squad. I am afraid they seem to have lost the fighting spirit that won the ashes in 2005. A bit like the football side under Mclaren. At least they seem to have now got a top quality coach now, whilst we are stuck with Moores.

And they've done it again with the squad for New Zealand.
It beggars belief how a man who has averaged over 100 for 2 seasons running can be omitted from the international team. I have no problems with Strauss being recalled as he hasn't suddenly become a bad batsman but surely there should be competition for places or players become complacent. Also, surely Collingwood is not a no.5 and where does Shah fit in the picture for test matches. |

This has to be in the top 10 of the most blatant political (dog in the manger ) his face does not fit decisions made by England selectors since we started
playing testmatches.
Yes Strauss is a talented player but is totaly out of form, he did little for the Middle last season when Ramps was taking the first division by storm, but no lets whistle in the wind and hope. |
